Parting the Mists 
I have a decision to make and whether or not to get a dog, a particular dog. I have held off for years because I like my freedom and yet part of me wants a companion.
I decided to draw a couple of cards because I must think of this beautiful creatures high as good as well as my own. The first card I got was wisdom of the oracle chaos and conflict in protection. The second card I got was starfish spirit and protection. The number that the shelter called from ends in 222227.
I’m not sure how to interpret these cards.
I’ve almost never had a pet in my life. Very few and never a dog. I’m terrified of the commitment but part of me wants one for protection and for companionship on my hikes and walks, to spoil. It’s a terrifying decision for me.
Any ideas on what these cards are telling me?

They seem to be reflecting your own inner turmoil over this issue. Sometimes that happens, and it’s not very helpful. A dog is a big commitment, though they are also amazing companions. There are other options for protection – pepper or bear spray, small tasers, self-defense classes, etc – and a dog for protection needs training. What is your gut feeling about this? Can you give this particular dog (I’m curious as to the breed) what it needs to thrive? Will what this dog gives help you thrive? Sorry, I’m not only a card person, but a big animal lover who has done some obedience and agility training with her many dogs over the years. 😉
