Not sure why I’ve been drawn to the Halloween Oracle lately; perhaps the state of the world is making me feel a little inward leaning with a Samhain energy. Who knows? But I suspect we all could use a little healing after everything we are dealing with.

Have a great Thursday!

CAULDRON – Synergy and healing

Where all things come together
Under pressure, flowful synergy
A new thing is created
A crucible of infinity.

A typical depiction of a witch sees her standing over a boiling cauldron slowly stirring the bubbling and mysterious contents. As she stirs the enormous metal over the raw flames, she cackles and incants commands to all the elements, transforming the contents into something magical.

Cauldrons were commonly used in ancient and medieval times for everything from the nightly meal to the making of medicines. This “family crucible” was usually placed within the hearth of the home, making it an essential part of the gathering of family. Much healing and nourishment came from the cauldron.

Should you receive the Cauldron card, it indicates the importance of combining a variety of techniques or elements to get the best result. Do not pull all your eggs in one basket. Refuse to choose just a single rigid pathway when a variety of ways are there to be enjoyed and experienced. You can find your own ways to create something new. The cauldron is a deeply transformational tool – things change once they are put under pressure. Resilience is being cultivated over time and this means that you will be able to withstand any negative pressure much more healthily from the inside out.

Making an idea into reality is the most potent magic there is for humanity. Have your dream, but make your plans to achieve it – and act upon it. Dreaming alone will get you nowhere. Blessings!

Meaning: The most potent act of the mind is to conceive of an idea and manifest it into practical, material reality. This means being able to formulate and marshal your thoughts to bring about a real-world change, or the transmutation of a wish, dream or desire, making it physically happen.

Reading Points: The concept of the material world as a solid, unchanging thing has evolved with our understanding of the cosmos. Human beings seem unique in their ability to interact with the material world. and yet have a foot in the otherworld of the mind, imagination, and creative will. To be connected to the Earth and the power that resides there allows us to draw from this primal source and direct the power of our minds to create changes in our world. The concept that the realms of matter and the realms of the mind are totally separate and detached is now outmoded and verifiably untrue. The primal rock is decorated with ancient cup-and-ring markings to express the emergence of creation and the cycles of energies within the universal consciousness and the still and stable point from which to plan and empower. your life, fulfilling your material dream.

Running a bit behind today, but here we go! Honestly, without a regular schedule in our household, I’m losing track of days and time easily. My boyfriend works at a school, his daughter was in school (and this fall heading to college), and I worked at the library. Currently, school is out and I’m on furlough (and staying home due to a weakened immune system). Alas, my internal clock is running amuck!

Now on to the card.

The card shows fiery bows, a metaphor for how we are often stuck when making decision or taking action. We are often afraid of making the wrong choice. But things re often not as hot as we think they are, so set aside your fear. Now is the time to take action.

Blessings!

TWO OF BOWS – DECISION

MEANING: The subconscious senses related to the desire to resolve decisions are awakened. The gateway stands open before the individual prepared to take positive action.

DESCRIPTION: A figure stands on a hilltop at night against a backdrop of stars. Around his head blazes a corona of flames, the fires of decision. In each hand he holds a tall, unfinished bow stave that extends above his head. From the bow staves burst flames, an expression of his vigor and strength.

READING POINTS: The bow represents not just the potential energy latent within any situation, but the need to direct and manage that energy to achieve your goals. This can mean the first movement toward reinvigorating and reforming the relationship with life. It requires the decisive will to step across a threshold and take control in a positive and proactive manner. Sometimes it may require a reclaiming and remaking of the mental and emotional tools and energies that are required to move on in life. By preparing to step up and through the gateway and make a choice to allow forward momentum to flow naturally, the fashioning of a new mental discipline or processes, or the reawakening of a previously effective but abandoned one, may be required. By summoning and directing the powerful healing energies available to you, the rough-hewn bow stave can be grasped and the process of shaping and crafting your destiny can begin. You stand at a crucial crossroads from which you can now move forward with confidence. Once the decision to take control of these elements and harness and direct your power is made, a new paradigm of possibilities is released. These energies will need skillful harnessing and responsible management to reach their full and effective potential.

Good morning! My apologies for missing the last two days; sometimes life just gets nutty. Our card of the day is the Shaman, who is ready to help guide us to deeper mysteries – if we are willing to take the step through the gateway.

Blessings!

The Shaman

Reading points: You may hear the beat of a drum or the song of the wind. It may be the dancing of the light on water or the midnight barking of the Fox, but whatever awakens your desire to return to the wild, the shaman within you is ready for initiation into the mysteries. This may manifest itself in the form of desire to study an esoteric science or philosophy and apply what you learned to the world. It may involve travel for the sake of getting confidence and experience. But however the desire to begin a new spiritual chapter emerges, you are now in an emotional and intellectual position to bring forth a real change in your life for the benefit of everyone. This process of focusing, meditating, and applying wisdom from the Otherworld to everyday reality is the true work of the Shaman.

Meaning: The view of the universe possessed by these ancient artists was of a place where human elements and skills were intimately interwoven with the qualities and progress of wild creatures. Human spiritual welfare was dependent on an empathic exchange and respect for the sacred ancestral memory of all life, and mediation of the totem guardians and deities was a primal spiritual function of the shaman.

This is a gateway card, offering illumination to the labyrinth of the inner universe end of the Otherworld of the universe online. The shamans unique quality is the ability to enter and commune with all levels of sentiment life on the earth. It is he who shudders with the wisdom and joy contained in the haunting music of the whale song or whose skin prickles with arousal at the howling of the timberwolves. His soul reverberates with the unheard sonorous call of the mountains and smiles with pure joy at laughter of the waterfall.

The shaman applies his magic with intent. He studies the habits of wild creatures; he understands the weather patterns that bring good harvest or dry summers. He knows the healing plants from the deadly fungi and can travel through the dark by watching the ritual dance of the magical beings that populate the night sky. He give thanks to the trees that supply warmth and light in the winter and gathers the young around a fire to tell stories of great adventure and courage to the light and educate those who would listen.

Through inner working and meditation, the shaman will bring insight and understanding of your true place in the world. Then practical application and the manifestation of wisdom and will power into your physical world is possible. This requires dedication, patience, and commitment, but is the nature of real magic.

Happy September, everyone! I love the fall months, and I enjoyed the daily card readings from the Halloween Oracle last year so much that I decided to start it early.

When I drew this card this morning, I almost giggled – what an appropriate draw for the day of the dark moon! Also, don’t forget most readings will be posted directly to this blog’s Facebook page. Enjoy!

SCRYING

Intuition

HO Scrying

Soften your eyes

Being the trance

Whole worlds are opened

Begin the dance

Scrying is the divination technique of seeing unconscious images (or images from the diving or supernatural) appear upon or within a surface. People scry into a crystal ball, a black mirror, water, even the surface of ice. It is a very ancient technique and one traditionally enacted on Samhain (Halloween).

The keys to effective scrying are being as relaxed as possible, minimizing possible distractions, softening our gaze and allowing.

The enemy of effective scrying is distraction, both from inside and out. Turn off the phone, electric lights anywhere you can see them, any music, and if you are srying out doors, take the time to settle into the environment and listen to all the noises so that your mind will not need to break your focus later It is also vitally important to settle the mind as much as you can.

If you regularly mediate, you may wish to use those techniques or otherwise you can simply shut your eyes and focus on your breath – this is usually very effective. If you have a specific question for the scrying medium, state it up front. Then, once you feel relaxed, turn your focus inward. Imagine pulling your energy within you, and then focus on the third eye point (the chakra point on the center of the forehead, just above the eyebrows) and imagine opening it. Then gaze in a soft, unfocused way at your scrying surface and simply allow images to from and observe what presents itself to you. Do not engage your rational mind – this is about receiving, not thinking!

Should you pull the Scrying card, I suggest you try scrying for starters. It also indicates that you may wish to develop your intuition further and not rely soley on the logical part of your mind for all the answers. True wisdom takes a balance of logic and imagination for true wisdom.
